I am busy cleaning, throwing things out and moving things around at the HQ today. While in the midst of my toil I had the misfortune of seeing David Gregory’s face appear on my television screen. Unfortunately I had left the television on with the sound off and had forgotten to turn the station to a different channel as to avoid having to acknowledge that a show as preposterous as Meet the Press actually exists. I was so angered that I thought of writing a post about this ‘journalist’, but immediately remembered my duties at present.
So then I thought; I’ll just do what the CONservatives and NEOlibs do:
1. Make stuff up AND 2. outsource to someone else to do it
I give you the Complaint Generator. (Scot Pakin created it a while ago; but it is still fun to play with sometimes!).
I am writing on behalf of myself and a few of my friends to state that you don’t need to look far to see that the essence of lying is in deception, not in words. In the text that follows, I don’t intend to recount all of the damage caused by Mr. David Gregory’s impolitic excuses but I do want to point out that throughout history, there has been a clash between those who wish to open minds instead of closing them and those who wish to reward those who knowingly or unknowingly play along with his accusations while punishing those who oppose them. Naturally, David belongs to the latter category. Sometime in the future he will destroy our youths’ ability to relax, reflect, study, and meditate. Fortunately, that hasn’t happened…yet. But it will indisputably happen if we don’t put an end to David’s evildoing.
Perhaps if David thought about it, he’d realize that if you’re the type who dares to think for yourself, then you’ve probably already determined that he swears that elected national governments are not accountable to their own people. Clearly, he’s living in a world of make-believe, with flowers and bells and leprechauns and magic frogs with funny little hats. Back in the real world, the facts as I see them simply do not support the false but widely accepted notion that David should deny us the opportunity to condemn—without hesitation, without remorse—all those who encourage men to leave their wives, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become self-satisfied, logorrheic stirrers because “it’s the right thing to do”. I was, however, going to forget about the whole thing when it suddenly occurred to me that David wants to show us a gross miscarriage of common judgment. Personally, I don’t want that. Personally, I prefer freedom. If you also prefer freedom then you should be working with me to free people from the fetters of sesquipedalianism’s poisonous embrace.
If David is going to incite racial hatred, then he should at least have the self-respect to remind himself of a few things: First, he uses a litany of euphemisms, buzz words, and doublespeak to help him commit confrontational, in-your-face acts of violence, intimidation, and incivility. And second, when he was first found teaching our children a version of history that is not only skewed, distorted, and wrong but dangerously so, I was scared. I was scared not only for my personal safety; I was scared for the people I love. And now that David is planning to attack my character, I’m downright terrified. In summary, it is my prayer that people everywhere will join me in my quest to place a high value on honor and self-respect.
Again, none of the preceding italicised rant is true or intended to be taken as such.
And if just one additional person uses Scot Pakin’s magnificent program to lodge just one fake complaint; well I have done my good deed for the day.
