I didn’t want to merit the whole Ann Romney/Hilary Rosen nonsense by talking about it on a blog as prestigious as politiwrap. But I came across a story today in which Ann Romney is quoted pontificating about how hard she and Mitt ‘struggled’ during their early years as a couple. They were both studying going to school and neither of them were working jobs (poor babies)….because they were living off of some stock from Mitt’s trust fund. YES…you read that correctly. This is what I mean when I say that Rethugs are outright criminals; their ability to say the most preposterous things and display no self awareness as to how others will recieve their nonsense is just one trait among so many others that makes the GOP organized crime syndicate the racist, thieving, lying, divisive fake political party we’ve come to know.
ALSO. Hilary Rosen who supposedly speaks for the ‘left’ was (and may still be) a high paid lobbyist for, among other clients, Big Oil. I post this only to illustrate my recurring theme that the words DImocrat and progressive mean two very different things. Knowing this little tidbit about Rosen, I would not be too terribly surprised if her ‘gaffe’ wasn’t somehow done intentionally, afterall she was in charge of ‘messagin’ for some of her high paying clients, so she isn’t a rookie or prone to going off script. Among reasons as to Why? Well I can think of about 4 news cycles in which the disastrous ‘JOBS Act’ was NOT in the news, and a fake argument between two rich women WAS in the news.

Another good article on the Lake asks for a statement of unity so to speak for all genuine liberals, progressives and even honest moderates to sign on to and rally around. Well worth the read. I will let you know of any updates on this.
Any regular reader or even quick scanner of politiwrap knows a little about Modern Monetary Theory (MMT), and you also know that you can learn a lot more at Professor Bill Mitchell’s website. One of the signature truths that MMT proves thoroughly is that austerity because of deficit fear mongering is absolute nonsense. Check out a recent post by Mitchell on the U.S.’s near unlimited capacity to spend. Anytime you hear a politician or an ‘economist’ saying that we can’t afford Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, etc. etc. know this: They are LYING to your face, End of Story.
We are already well aware of this, but here is a pretty decent article explaining how rich folks pay less taxes than everyone else in the U.S.
Here is one for all the racism deniers. Ever since the Trayvon Martin tragedy became nationally recognized, I have had numerous conversations, both in person and online, with folks who just cannot believe that racism still exists in the U.S., I am going to create a mini archive of ‘Racists in the News’ and add it as an update to my ‘Stupid racists f**ng up America” post. Anyway, I literally just went to Crooks and Liars and what was the first headline I saw? Florida Fire Dept Cpt posts racist facebook rant. Just one more example of how racism is alive and well in the U.S.
