Good afternoon friends of politiwrap! Hope the week was alright and hope the weekend is going well.
It was a slow week for politiwrap, but that’s not always a bad thing, in fact, I’ll take slow over a hectic week any time! No complaints. And other than that, as Professor N.G. Cattefishe has been known to say, “I’m well on the way but I haven’t got there yet, I’ll let you know when I do.”
This first song is a good FORGET IT song. You know, when you’ve had it up to here and you just say, ‘screw it, I’m rolling on anyway!’. I sometimes feel this way about politics!ha! Bachman Turner Overdrive ‘Let it Ride!’
From the 1974 Album ‘Small Talk’ Sly and the Family Stone with a cool jam, ‘Loose Booty!’ I like how they say Shadrach, Meeshak, Abednigo though I don’t know what the three witnesses have to do with this song!
From the 1979 Funkadelic Album ‘Uncle Jam Wants You!” as far as I know (I may be wrong) this is as close as Funadelic ever came to doing a ‘disco’ song, and it’s still mostly pop/funk, ‘Freak of the Week!’ I love this song mostly for the symbols and how George Clinton comes in at 00:43, it’s ice cold!
I’ll close it out with a little hip hop. First time I heard it, I thought this song it was an instant classic for me! Kurious, Mc Serch (from 3rd Bass) and MF Doom! Serch with the first verse is my favorite, Doom on the last verse has my favorite line, ‘Metal Face Doom still drooling, still share his last snack bar feedin’ these children’ ‘Amalgam Digital’
